Worked You Over
04:06
|
|||
Complacence ain't a friend of mine
Body working overtime
Your faded face and memory
A habit taken over me
Step closer as you break a fall
Like you ever cared at all
These idle hands and damage done
The same that worked you over some
Facing the music
I wanna confront ya
But here in your corner
Your eyes say you’re having a good day
Then you turn away
Facing the music
I wanna disown ya
But here in your corner
Your eyes say your having a good day
But you turn away
How I've treated you my blood
Like my old man would
Just like you were no different
How a tough hand laid on you
It’s all I ever knew
A promise made and broken
Tough won’t be on your calling card
Not when the going’s getting hard
Ain’t easy now to give it up
Surrounded by the ones you love
So hellbent now on breaking me
Heaven sent and hard to please
Why won’t you think it helps to call
When I’ve already heard it all
Facing the music
I wanna confront ya
But here in the corner
Your eyes say you’re having a good day
Then you turn away
Facing the music
I wanna disown ya
But here in the corner
Your eyes say you're having a good day
But you turn away

The Blame In You
03:48
|
|||
I woke up again swimming in my own sweat
And a pinch mark raised
But I’m sleeping my own bed
I can’t feel a thing
But I can hear it all
See shadows on the wall
No one coming when I call
Terrified, yet I know...
I’ve fallen into a waking nightmare
Of your stalking pose
It would be all my fault
Not some blameless ghost
Put down your phone
Telepathically we’re complete
A heart is not a home
You can't build these walls around me
your blood beat and flow
As I lay here asking for mercy
Now, aren't you the same ghost that haunts me in my sleep?
Are you happy
In this life?
Are you sad the way they see right through you some times?
Are you happy?
I can’t put the blame in you

The Good Man
03:56
|
|||
A black saddle and whiskey saloon away
You play Wyatt Earp and I’ll be Jesse James
Don’t you point your gun around this train station
Or you’ll be sleeping with the fishes
Giving my best wishes to the sea
Do I have to play the good man?
And will we remain friends?
All in all, it’s been an overwhelming feeling
But a pleasure and a privilege dealing with it
I could let you off with just a warning
But you’d be back again tomorrow morning
Soon you’d tell your friends this is the wild, wild West
And you’d be picking out your teeth from the bottom of their feet
Do I have to play the good man?
And will we remain friends?
All in all, it’s been an overwhelming feeling
But a pleasure and a privilege dealing with it

Tongue Tied
02:12
|
|||
There’s a history here
Old pine boards of the floor lay steady while they comfort my ear
To the ground have I found my purpose?
No one told me what to do
Surrounded by these pink and blue balloons
With one looking back at you
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Would you reach right through and take it all?
My mind to sin and heart repent
My tongue to quick to take it in
Father figure spare a sight
A figure spawned audacious mind
Mother hold me through the night
Forgive your child, cleanse his eyes
Have we all gone and lost our voices somehow?
Meet our maker make excuses lie down
Am I whispering right?
Or am I tongue-tied?
Am I losing my mind?
Or am I tongue-tied?
If memory serves me right
I’ve been tongue-tied
Am I losing my life?
Or am I tongue-tied?
